Reminder: Exterior Home Modifications

Planning an exterior modification or changes to your home or yard? In that case, you MUST complete the Design Review Application and receive approval BEFORE any changes begin.

The process is easy and, on average, takes 1-2 weeks for approval (but technically has a 30-day review period.)

Work done without approval is subject to fines and removal (so get those applications filled out - it's easy!)

These items include, but are not limited to:
  • Landscaping beds (and added borders) or adding/removing plants and trees
  • Satellite dishes
  • Gutters
  • Exterior painting (walls, doors, trim, etc.)
  • Paver stones / sidewalks / concrete work
  • Solar panels
  • Fence extensions/staining
  • Trash corrals
  • Temporary or permanent structures (patio tents, gazebos, pergolas, sheds, etc.)
  • Decking
  • Exterior lighting
  • Flagpoles
  • Basketball goals

What information do I need to provide when submitting an application?
  • Lot survey (this can be found in your closing documents)
  • Drawing on the lot survey of your proposed project
  • Dimensions of what you will be installing (height & width) Example: Pergola, shed, playscape, deck, flag pole, etc.
  • Neighbor awareness form
  • Colors and types of materials used
  • Permits obtained by the city (if necessary)
